We give thanks to a group of very special people - our volunteers from the community. Each season, hundreds of volunteers log many of hours work with us on everything from audience services, concession services, to behind-the-scenes administrative support.
These wonderful and dedicated volunteers are an incredible asset to us and to you, our patrons.
Please join the Dell'Arte staff in applauding them with standing ovations of sincere gratitude!
We show our gratitude to our volunteers, by inviting them to be our guests to the
Grand Opening of The Mad River Festival with our Dell'Arte Company's premier of our outdoor show, complete with catered delights, and beverages. It is our way of saying THANK YOU.
The Volunteer Program:
-
Since its inception in 1999, the Dell'Arte Volunteer Program has grown to more than 180 participants, many of whom have been with Dell'Arte since the program began. Each year these dedicated volunteers provide in excess of 900 hours of service to Dell'Arte and help welcome more than 5,000 patrons through our theatre doors!
-
Volunteers are an important aspect of Dell'Arte. Our Professional Training Program, Master of Fine Arts, Dell'Arte Youth Academy, Holiday and Touring programs in addition to our Mad River Festival are all a part of the volunteer experience. Anyone who is interested in volunteering at Dell'Arte, from students, to business people, to seniors, is encouraged to become involved. Dell'Arte can use your help with a variety of volunteer opportunities, including ushering, serving on committees, helping with artist hospitality, and assisting with mailings.
-
Ushering -- Our volunteer ushers serve as "good will ambassadors" for the theatre and are a vital part of the experience that patrons have when they first enter our theatre. The high level of customer service that the volunteer staff provides to our patrons ensures a favorable first impression and guarantees their comfort and safety when attending Dell'Arte productions.
-
Administration-Facility-Set and Production -- Our volunteers also contribute time and talent to the building of sets, costumes and props, as well as helping us maintain our historic home, the Odd Fellows Hall here in Blue Lake, built in 1891. Some of our volunteers assist in our administrative office, duties vary and may include clerical assistance, computer entry, stuffing mailings, and answering the telephone.
-
Housing -- Adopt an Actor! Some of our volunteers provide housing for our guest performers locally, or volunteer to house our performers while on tour. We are fortunate to be able to hire actors from New York, Philadelphia and beyond for our productions. However, we often have an urgent need for housing! At some points during our busiest time we need to house over 20 actors and technicians!! A commitment of a private room for from 2 days to 4 weeks is all it takes to become friends with an actor who might be the next Tim Robbins! At some point during the year our local company will be either touring in the Los Angeles, or San Francisco bay area and will need housing. Ask for details.
How to Participate:
-
Each Dell'Arte performance is a labor of love, and volunteers keep the show going! All are invited to share in the excitement of the performing arts by becoming a volunteer.
Dell'Arte is always looking for new volunteers who are interested in assisting the Theatre staff during the production of, and during the performances here at Dell'Arte.
