Tragedy is a form which, at its root, pits the rational and ordered world against that of terror and chaos. Among its themes are the relationship between human destiny and human choice, the duty to the state vs the individual.

Since 1991, the Dell'Arte Mad River Festival has brought together performers and audience members from "around the world and down the block" for performances of theatre, music, comedy, storytelling, clown, puppetry and more. Celebrating Blue Lake's centennial will be a new opera, BLUE LAKE: THE OPERA, by Lauren Wilson and the return of Los Payasos Mendigos.
