The Magic
Banana Hour

with daredevil chicken (Jonathan Taylor and Anne Goldmann)

The Magic Banana Hour is an hour-ish of world-class comedy, music, magic and mayhem! Inspired by vintage variety shows and flipped completely on its head, it's a one-night-only experience with local talent and Dell’Arte grads featuring comedy acts, banana juggling, puppets doing magic and surprise guests.

Hosted by international award-winning comedy duo Jonathan Taylor and Anne Goldmann aka Daredevil Chicken, winners of The Gong Show.

What the critics say about Daredevil Chicken and their acts in The Magic Banana Hour:

“Inspired Comedy” — Variety

“Eye-watering Vaudeville” — TimeOut London

“Riotously funny from beginning to end” — Oregonian

The Magic Banana Hour can be described as ‘The Muppet Show’ meets ‘Prairie Home Companion’ with a splash of Andy Kaufman. When life is Bananas, PEEL IT! Bring a talent and be in the ‘Who’s Talented Talent Show’!

The Magic Banana Hour is the culmination of work generated by students working on their acts under the guidance of Jonathan and Anne.

Director / Creators

Anne Goldmann and Jonathan Taylor created ‘Daredevil Chicken’ on the streets of Barcelona as an interactive street theatre performance. Their performances have evolved and grown since then to create performance art, cabaret acts, burlesque, clown shows, and continue to present them around the world. Combining comedy, circus skills, music, magic and absurd characters they are modern comic vaudevillians.

Their shows have been seen in Off-Broadway NY theater, London’s Westend, Berlin cabaret, the Las Vegas strip, many theater festivals and circuses around the world, and on ABC on the Gong Show for two seasons.

Some highlights include La Soiree in London’s Westend, La Clique in Edinburgh, Spiegelworld’s Absinthe in NYC and Empire in Australia, Cirque Du Soleil’s Mad Apple in Las Vegas, opening for Amanda Palmer, Lookingglass Theatre’s ‘Cascabel’ with celebrity chef Rick Bayless, and winning Season One on The Gong Show as ‘Married With Bananas.’ Anne and Jonathan are passionate about Variety, Clown and interactive theatre. They share their passion in their workshops which they have taught in the Bay Area, Ireland and Las Vegas. Website / Instagram.
