State of ?
In 1941 The State of Jefferson almost happened here in Northern California. Now in the current crosswinds of upheaval, talk of secession rises again. Self determination, having your voice heard, access to power, and changing borders swirls in response to recent events. And in the spirit of that provocation Dell’Arte creates a new play. We are creating a new state and we ask you to help us name it and write the charter.
We will name a different state each week. What five things should be in the charter?

PROJECT HISTORY
In the fall of 2016, the Dell’Arte company began work on our latest company work originally titled “The State of Jefferson”. We’ve been asking the public for their feedback and responses to prompts put out on social media and in the form of question boxes in our community. As the project develops, we will be archiving our steps and prompts here to show how our engagement shifts the more we learn and in response to our current political climate.

Dell’Arte is looking to the public for their input in our creation process for the 2017 Mad River Festival Main Stage production. We are beginning this process by asking our audience this question. Stay tuned for more information as the project develops.
