Miguel first discovered yoga as a teenager as a means for conditioning his body for competitive swimming. After practicing yoga for two decades and feeling the healing effects it had on his mind and body, Miguel felt a calling to deepen his practice by becoming a certified yoga teacher. He traveled to the rain forests of Costa Rica to undertake the 200 hr yoga training program with Yogi Aaron at Blue Osa on the Osa Peninsula. Miguel's training focused on honoring traditional yoga philosophy as well as understanding anatomy and A.Y.A.M.A.™ technique. Miguel hopes to reach people who are new to yoga and those who are seeking out a gentler practice.

Alexander Technique is a somatic mindfulness practice that brings awareness, release of tension, and ease of movement to those who practice it. In this class we will explore tools that you can apply to everyday life to ease stress in the body and improve coordination. The activities in this class will be low impact and meet the students where they are at. Students will practice means of recognizing and undoing habitual patterns that get in the way of natural movement, finding more flexibility and choice. You can expect to find improved alignment and efficiency of movement as you strengthen the mind-body connection.
