The Dell’Arte Company presents The 2016 Macabre Cabaret, at the Carlo Theatre on October 14th and 15th. The production will feature company and guest performers in several spooky vignettes as well as L.A.’s Debbie McMahon, Director of The Grand Guignolers.

The Grand Guignol is theatre style characterized by graphic, amoral horror entertainment (a genre popular from Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus to today’s splatter films) at which patrons were known to scream, become ill, or just plain faint. At the Macabre Cabaret, this tawdry style has been given a comedic makeover for this evening of both terror and delight. A popular recurring cabaret and herald of fall in Blue Lake, this year’s acid-throwing evening of laughter and fright will feature company members Michael Fields, James Peck, and David Powell as well as Dell’Arte alum Debbie McMahon and her Petite Guignolers.

The 2016 Macabre Cabaret runs Friday, Oct. 14th and Saturday, Oct. 15th at the Carlo Theatre. Curtain is at 8 p.m with the house opening at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $15, with discounted $12 tickets for students and seniors. Tickets purchased online can be picked up at Will Call starting at 7:00 p.m. Content is appropriate for ages 16+.
